i’ve been a fan of 70s/80s japanese music since i was around 10 or so,
but i didn’t stumble upon ymo until i was 15.
it was the start of summer and, thanks to a combination of various depressing
events, i desperately needed some sort of distraction.
... that's when simoon, a song i'd previously heard (and thought i hated lol)
suddenly got stuck in my head.

i found myself listening through their 1st album.
i liked it.
then i listened to solid state survivor...
and i was instantly infatuated.
i had never heard anything quite like it before.

so anyways,
that's how my stupid little brain
fell in love with yellow magic orchestra.

i didn't realize just how much this band would change my life..
ymo's music made me a happier person,
and their work has taught me so much about myself.
i am forever thankful for all the wonderful music i've discovered,
and all the lovely friends and mutuals i've met along the way.
