XTC were a british rock band, perhaps best recognized for their 1979 hit "Making Plans for Nigel",
but also for their songs "Senses Working Overtime" (1982) and "Dear God" (1985).

Their most recognizable line-up consists of (from clockwise, left to right):
Colin Moulding (bass, vocals), Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Terry Chambers (drums), and David Gregory (guitar, vocals).
Their first two albums featured a keyboardist, Barry Andrews, in place of Gregory. Chambers also left the group after 1982.

They released a total of 12 albums together between 1978 and 2000 (hover over the graphic to see them all!),
and two records released during their brief psychedelic stint as The Dukes of Stratosphear.
some of my favorite videos of theirs ^_^
They maintain a tight-knit fanbase to this very day,
and have inspired countless bands over the years.
Andy Partridge also appears on Ryuichi Sakamoto's
B-2 Unit and Thomas Dolby's The Golden Age of Wireless.
He also (rather infamously) came very close to producing
Blur's Modern Life is Rubbish.
He was also on an episode of Family Guy.
I was familiar with their work for a while (and had even bought a copy of Drums and Wires),
but didn't properly get into them until July 2023.
I was in such a musical slump at the time and felt incredibly miserable
about the bullying I was facing in school at the time
on top of the prospect of starting my final year of high school.
Their music spoke to me on so many levels. Like YMO, they were a band that I learned to love when I absolutely needed their music the most.
In a year that was plagued with so much hurt in my life, they really did save me in a way.
As... stupid as that honestly sounds lmao.

The XTC community, for the most part,
has been an absolute joy to be a part of.
I've met so many wonderful friends over these
funny British men and their silly little songs.
I've also met other XTC fans irl too
(and converted my mom into a fan of theirs lol),
which is neat.
wip i didnt like this section i'll fix it later

the little XTC corner in my glass display case....
on the left is a postcard signed by Colin, and on the right is the same kind of drumming panda toy
seen
in both the XTC puppet show and the Funk Pop a Roll music video.
(the same panda also shows up in a Crowded House video too, actually !)
